{"id":200,"date":"2022-11-25T08:47:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T08:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakewoodcivic.org\/?page_id=200"},"modified":"2023-05-05T14:04:10","modified_gmt":"2023-05-05T14:04:10","slug":"garbage-brush-and-recycle","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lakewoodcivic.org\/?page_id=200","title":{"rendered":"Garbage, Brush, and Recycle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong> <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Garbage:<\/span><\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Lakewood garbage pickup is on Tuesdays and Fridays each week.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 There is no curbside pickup for trash or recycling when your pickup day falls on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year&#8217;s Day but you should check with the City or Baytown Sun to confirm.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Recycle:<\/span><\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Recycle for Lakewood is on Fridays.<\/span> Recycle glass bottles, paper products, 1,2,3,4,5,6,&amp;7 plastic (no plastic bags or Styrofoam), metal cans are picked up at your curb on Mondays in the big green totes or they can be taken to the Green Center.\u00a0 Electronic and computer waste can be taken to the Green Center for free <\/b>(must have Baytown water bill and drivers license for electronic &amp; computer recycle to prove you are a resident).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Brush \u2013 Trash:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lakewood<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Brush pickup is always the week of the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0Monday of every month<\/span>.<\/strong>\u00a0 You should coordinate large cutting projects with this in mind.\u00a0 Small amounts of brush and\/or leaves <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">can<\/span> be placed in trashcans for regular bi-weekly pickup.\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The City will not pick up piles of MIXED household trash and brush<\/span>.<\/strong>\u00a0 They must be separate and placed on your property on the city easement (near the street) \u2013 not in a ditch.\u00a0 The City will not pick up on vacant property.\u00a0 <strong>The city also does not pick up building materials i.e.: boards\/fencing\/sheetrock, etc. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Residents wishing to dispose of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">household trash<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">building materials<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">old furniture<\/span>, or recyclable materials may take them to the Green Center.<\/strong> The Cash Only Solid Waste Disposal fees are based on the load per visit and are posted on the site.
