It\u2019s time again to\nrecruit volunteers for the Lakewood Civic Association Board of Directors. The\nLakewood Civic Association (LCA) began in the 1940s to maintain Lakewood as a\nwonderful place to live. The LCA is a voluntary organization comprised of\nLakewood residents, both homeowners and tenants, with 8 board members. Each\nyear four Board positions come up for election. You may ask, \u201cWhat is it like\nto be part of the Board of Directors?\u201d Although the purpose of the LCA is to\nsolve community problems of common interest to the residents and property\nowners of the Lakewood subdivision, it is so much more than just enforcing deed\nrestrictions. Some activities this past year include sponsoring community\ngarage sales, hosting a Summer Kickoff party at the Lakewood Pool, upgrading\nsecurity and fencing at the Lakewood Boat Ramp, and providing financial\nassistance to the Lakewood Pool, upkeep of the Boat Ramp and maintenance of the\nLakewood Sign. Many people volunteer with LCA activities and the more\nvolunteers the LCA has, the more that can be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The LCA Board\ntypically meets once a month so it\u2019s a small investment of time with a\npotential for big community impact.
