It is with deep sadness that the Lakewood Civic Association (LCA) mourns the passing of our long term Board member and friend D. Spencer Carnes. Spencer had a long and distinguished record as a community volunteer. As a LCA Board member and professional engineer, Spencer provided pro-bono services to projects in Lakewood, including analysis to show our new Lakewood entrance sign met the City\u2019s wind load requirements and permitting calculations for the sign and fence at the Boat Ramp. Spencer\u2019s company, Carnes Engineering, also recently donated Lercy\u2019s gift certificates for the first 50 people who joined the LCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spencer and his wife Joy took great pride in living in Lakewood. They have previously won the \u2018Light Up Lakewood\u2019 award for their beautiful holiday decorations and \u2018Yard of the Month\u2019 for their immaculate landscaping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
