Light Up Lakewood 2016 Competition

Get your Christmas lights ready for the annual Lakewood Garden Club’s “Light up Lakewood”. The judging will be on the night of Tuesday, Dec. 13 after dark.
Judging based on originality, general appeal, and implementation of displays.
Five winners will be announced in the Baytown Sun, the Lakewood Civic Association’s online newsletter and the NextDoor Lakewood online site. The winners will also be presented with a special gift and a sign will be placed in your yard. All you have to do is use your best decorating skills and have your lights on by dark! Good Luck!
November 2016 Lakewood Yard of the Month

The Lakewood Garden Club has chosen the home of Alva and Joyce High at 332 Burnet Dr. as the Yard of the Month for November. The owners recently moved in and have been busy making improvements. All their hard work shows in this lovely home.
Cookies for Station 5 Firefighters

The Lakewood Garden Club delivered cookies baked by the Kilgore Center to the firefighters at Station 5 on Bayway in appreciation of their service to the Lakewood neighborhood. The Lakewood Garden Club has chosen the home of Jim and Sheryl Edwards at 108 Tanglewood as the Yard of the Month for October. The well-planned and expansive yard is festively decorated for fall and very inviting.

The Lakewood Garden Club has selected the home of Bill & Karen Lewis at 225 Rollingwood Circle as the Yard of the Month for September. The yard has survived the summer and the neatly kept beds are full of foxtail ferns, spiraling cedars and trailing vines on the railing. A beautiful yard!

The Lakewood Garden Club has chosen the home of Ron and Mary DeLuna, 408 Azalea, as the Yard of the Month for August. The yard has been newly landscaped for ease of care and the owners are more able to enjoy during the hot summer months .

The Lakewood Garden Club has chosen the home of Ronald & Donna Woodard at 213 Post Oak as the Yard of the Month for May. Many hours of work have gone into this beautiful, newly landscaped yard. It is filled with colorful flowering tropicals and palms that should withstand summer.

The Lakewood Garden Club has chosen the home of Spencer and Joy Carnes at 205 Pin Oak as the yard of the month for April. This yard is truly beautiful front and back with great attention to detail and placement of plants. The front ivy trimmed wall is very striking and the backyard is an oasis of blooming plants, fountain, pool and even vegetables.
