Light Up Lakewood 2016 Competition

Get your Christmas lights ready for the annual Lakewood Garden Club’s “Light up Lakewood”. The judging will be on the night of Tuesday, Dec. 13 after dark.
Judging based on originality, general appeal, and implementation of displays.
Five winners will be announced in the Baytown Sun, the Lakewood Civic Association’s online newsletter and the NextDoor Lakewood online site. The winners will also be presented with a special gift and a sign will be placed in your yard. All you have to do is use your best decorating skills and have your lights on by dark! Good Luck!

Cookies for Station 5 Firefighters

The Lakewood Garden Club delivered cookies baked by the Kilgore Center to the firefighters at Station 5 on Bayway in appreciation of their service to the Lakewood neighborhood. George Hasbrouck accepted the delivery on behalf of of the crew who were on a call at the time. Pictured are Charlene Sharp,Jo Ann Eve, George Hasbrouck and Mary Ann Beltz.

The Lakewood Garden Club has chosen the home of Spencer and Joy Carnes at 205 Pin Oak as the yard of the month for April. This yard is truly beautiful front and back with great attention to detail and placement of plants. The front ivy trimmed wall is very striking and the backyard is an oasis of blooming plants, fountain, pool and even vegetables.
