Neighborhood Night Out – October 3rd

October 3rd is Neighborhood Night Out at Travis Park (301 Robin Road) from 6 pm – 8 pm. Come out and meet your neighbors. There will be snacks, games for children and adults, SWAG and prizes. Representatives from ExxonMobil, GCCISD, Sea Scouts, Wetlands Center, City of Baytown and more will be joining us. This event is sponsored by Lakewood Neighborhood Watch, Lakewood Civic Association, ExxonMobil, El Toro, Chick-fil-A, Subway and a great group of Lakewood volunteers. We hope to see you there.

Community Garage Sale October 7th, 2023

IT’S LAKEWOOD COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE TIME! Saturday, October 7th, 8am-2pm. The Lakewood Civic Association is collecting addresses to be posted on the LCA website and published in a newspaper ad. There is no cost and you set up your garage sale at your house.
Please send your name and address to garagesale@lakewoodcivic.org to get on the list, Lakewood residents only please. There are yard signs available to LCA members upon request.
Come join us and make some extra money for the holidays!

Good Neighbor Award Recipient

Please join us in recognizing Ken Martin as the latest recipient of the Lakewood Good Neighbor award. Ken has lived in Lakewood most of his life and has been assisting neighbors while also keeping our neighborhood looking nice for decades. He’s been one of the first to aid many neighbors cut up fallen limbs, insulate water pipes, mow yards and help with various home repairs. Ken worked with the Sea Scouts to trench and install the irrigation system for our new Lakewood sign and takes care of the landscaping. He is on the Board of the Lakewood Neighborhood Watch and his volunteer efforts have made Neighborhood Night Out a successful event for many years. His outgoing and friendly attitude has made our neighborhood the best place to live.

Boat Club Registration

If you missed the mid-May 2023 to mid-May 2024 Lakewood Boat Club renewal on May 16th, there will be another sign-up from 9:00 am – 10 am Saturday, June 24th at the Boat Launch at the end of S. Burnett Drive.
Please bring your completed forms and exact cash or a check:
• LCA Boat Club application and
• LCA membership application
Dues:
• Lakewood Residents: $30 LCA membership + $40 Boat club = $70
• Lakewood Estates: $75
• Limited number of outside Lakewood slots for $150/yr – please contact us at email boat@lakewoodcivic.org to confirm a slot is available.
If you have already paid the LCA membership dues for mid-May 2023 to mid-May 2024, to avoid paying the $30 membership you must be on the list of current LCA members.

Lakewood Boat Ramp Reopened

Thanks to a very generous donation from ExxonMobil, the driving surface at the Lakewood Boat Ramp is much improved. The repairs have been completed and it is now reopened to current Boat Club members.

LCA Annual Meeting – May 16th

The Lakewood Civic Association Annual Meeting will be held on May 16th at the Baytown Fire Training Center located at 7022 Bayway Drive, which is just across the street from our subdivision. New keys for the Boat Club will be distributed from 6 – 7 pm and the annual meeting will be held from 7 – 8:30 pm.
Guest speakers will be our new City Manager Jason Reynolds, our new City Councilman Kenrick Griffith and ExxonMobil Public Affairs Manager Aaron Stryk. This meeting will be a great opportunity to learn more about what’s coming to Baytown and to our neighborhood, plus a chance to have questions answered.
All Lakewood subdivision residents are invited to attend. We hope to see you there.
